Holiday's 2012

I'm a little late . . .okay a lot late in posting, but better late than never!

We had a great holiday season. It was a little busy, like usual, but lovely!

We celebrated the Smith Christmas the weekend of Shane's graduation because my mom and dad came up to support Shane. We did all the Smith traditions. Frosted sugar cookies, exchanged gifts, played our Christmas Eve game, and ate pizza. We only had one day to celebrate, but it was great!

Because my mom and dad came up here the weekend before Christmas, Shane, Hayden and I stayed home this year for Christmas. We had fun celebrating with our friend's The Prusse's on Christmas Eve. We again ate pizza (a tradition in my family), watching White Christmas (no one else had ever watched it before . . . can you believe that!) and getting our Christmas PJs.

Good playing time with friends :)
Opening up Hayden's pjs
He LOVED them!
Shane showing off his pjs and our new family tradition . . . getting a Christmas movie to watch on Christmas Eve
So cute!
This is the first time I have not been with my extended family on Christmas morning. I thought I would be sad, and I did miss them, but it was so fun waking up Christmas morning and being with just my little family and getting to focus on us. Hayden got a new basketball hoop for Christmas and I'm glad to say he loved it! My future all-star :). This year was even more fun than last year watching Hayden. I'm sure it just keeps getting better :).
Heading downstairs to see what Santa brought!

Checking out his new hoop
Hayden also really loved his shopping cart. He loves to push it around. And can I just tell you, it's really hard to find a shopping cart that is not pink or purple. Come on people, it's 2013 a boy can have a shopping cart too!
Making the traditional super slop for breakfast
It's not Christmas morning without orange julius . . . in my new Christmas glasses from mom. They look just like hers!
My boys eating breakfast. I loved Christmas morning . . .almost as much as Hayden loved his orange julius. He seriously would not put it down!
For New Year's Eve, I was SOOO excited to just get in my PJs and lay on the couch. And that's exactly what we did! I LOVED it! Oh how life has changed! On New Year's Day, we went down to Syracuse and celebrated the extend Bennett Christmas. It was a nice way to start 2013.

We had a great holiday season in 2012. I look back at 2012 and feel very blessed. It was a hard year and a great year all at once. But hey that's life! My goal for 2013 is to find JOY in my life. In all the parts of my life. My other focus this year is to remember that "change takes work". I have so many things I need to improve about myself, but they aren't just going to happen. I have to work at it! So here's to a productive 2013 full of Joy and change!
